The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, says President Muhammadu Buhari spoke the mind of Nigerians in his broadcast on Monday.
Sani said President Buhari has demonstrated that he cherished the nation’s unity, peace and collective progress.
He described the president’s speech as a lion’s roar meant to wake up a slumbering nation dangerously forgetting the lessons of its history and the calling of its future.
Reacting differently, the Peoples Democratic Party, described the president’s speech as: quote “a missed opportunity to reconnect with Nigerians.
The speech aimed at intimidating Nigerians, did not address pertinent issues”, end of quote.
The party said Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief when their president arrived in the country after more than three months in London, but rather than rekindle that hope and confidence, the speech can most charitably be described as a monumental anti-climax.
