The Osun State Police Command says adequate security measures have been put in place, to ensure a hitch-free by-election in Osun West on Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police, Osun Command, Fimihan Adeoye said that policemen had been deployed to every nook and cranny of the state to ensure there was no breakdown of law and order.
In the same vein, the commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun, Mr. Philip Ayodele also assured the electorate of adequate security during and after the election.
In another development, reprieve came the way of former Senate leader, Alli Ndume, as the Federal High Court in Abuja set him free of terrorism charges slammed on him by the Federal Government.
Ruling on the no case submission by Ndume, Justice Gabriel Kolawole, held that the Federal Government failed to prove its case against the senator.
Senator Ndume, was arraigned on a four count charged of terrorism, on May 2011.
