The Independent National Electoral Commission says the continuous voter registration exercise will commence on the April 27.
It will end in the lead up to the 2019 general elections.
A statement signed by Amina Zakari, an INEC Commissioner confirmed this.
The decision was reached after a meeting was meant to finalize preparations for commencement of the nationwide exercise.
In another development, the timely completion of the Abuja International Airport runway has confirmed that “Nigerians elected a responsive, responsible and capable leader.
This is according to the Minister of Information Lai Mohamed.
The minister said the delivery of the project even before the scheduled date showed government’s ability to live up to its promise.
According to him the rehabilitation of the Abuja-Kaduna Road, the provision of effective security along the highway showed that Nigerians have what it takes to make the country proud.
