    The screening and confirmation of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, suffered a setback yesterday, as he was asked to return on the December 15 by the senate.
    Mr. Magu who arrived in a long convoy was seen leaving the National Assembly complex after he was informed that his screening was not listed in the day's order paper.

    Howeevr, a bill to provide for constituency projects in the annual budget of the federation has passed second reading on the floor of the senate.
    The bill which was was passed after a presentation by Senator Stella Oduah.
    She explained that the bill seeks to provide development for rural communities and empower the masses.

    She denied that constituency projects are sources of making money for legislators, insisting that it is a practice that enable them identify areas needing urgent government attention.
    The senate committee on state and local government is expected to report back to the senate in four weeks.
