The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASSU has declared a three day fasting and prayer to seek God’s intervention in the on-going industrial dispute between it and the Federal Government.

This was the resolution at the congress of the University of Ibadan branch of the union.

ASUU chairman in the Institution, Doctor Olusegun Ajiboye expressed optimism that the strike will soon end and advised the Federal Government to show greater commitment to resolve the disagreement.

    1. I concur with what ASUU is doing. This strike has gone on for too long and it is only with God's intervention that the strike will end. It is mandatory for every child to have education, and the strike has succeeded in putting the education of our future leaders on hold. On this note, i commend federal government for the effort they've put in, in putting the strike to a stop. The students are praying fervently and we can only hope for the best. Federal government should also ensure that they do all it takes for the students to resume school and achieve the best.

    2. It is a real news that the reason why the ASUU are on strike, is due to fact that the government are not responding to the needs of the lectures. The ASUU strike crises which has been the topic of the town for the past six month, has led to the delay of some student program mes and examinations. The government should try their possible best and ensure that the students resumes to class and also meet the demands of the lecturers.
