The Director General of Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMeR), Professor Biodun Salako on Thursday says the Institute has confirmed the efficacy of some approved Malaria treatment drugs in Nigeria.

He noted that evidenced based researches are important for formulation of appropriate policy to curb health problems in Nigeria.

The DG stated this while signing a Memoradum of Understanding between the Institute and Lead City University.

According to him, there is no cause of alarm with regard to the potency of the currently approved drugs by the Ministry of Health in treating Malaria.

Professor Salako stated going into partnership with Lead City is designed to ensure quality exchanges in supervision, teaching and researching health problems in the country.

In his response, Vice Chancellor, Lead City University Professor Remi Adeyemo assured that the institution will ensure quality assurance in teaching and researching health issues.
