Iran’s accidental shooting down of a Ukrainian passenger plane that killed all 176 people on board has made Iranians stage a protest in Tehran’s Azadi Square on Sunday.
The intensity of the protest attracted the attention of Iranian riot police, thereby making them to use tear gas to disperse thousands of them.
According to CNN, the protest began as vigils to mourn those who died in the crash, but it later became a mass anti-government demonstrations.
Other sources also revealed that the protesters ordered for the stepping down of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, their supreme Leader and the prosecution of those responsible for downing the plane.
Words from their mouth according to a footage posted on social, media came out very strong, as they chanted, “Death to the dictator,” some chanted in the capital, Tehran,.
“Khamenei have shame. Leave the country.” Were the voices heard from the video from the demonstrators.
From history, it was revealed that Khamenei has no limit to his term, as he has been in office for three decades.
