Bosnian war chief Slobodan Praljak has reportedly died in hospital after ‘drinking’ poison in the dock at The Hague while on trail for war crimes.
The 72-year-old was one of six former Bosnian Croat political and military leaders in the court.
He was appealing his 20-year imprisonment in 2013 for crime in East Mostar, a region in Southern Bosnia, The Mirror reports.
Once he found out his sentence would not be changing he told the judge in the court: “I have taken poison.”
He then took a swig from the container in his hand as the judge issued the sentence.
