The Bayelsa State Culture and Tourism Board has successfully obtained the rights to host the 2019 Edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant (MBGN).

According to the MBGN 2019 pres release, this development has come as a result of the activities slated to mark the farewell of the outgoing Governor of Bayelsa State Seriake Henry Dickson.


Since his Excellency, Gov. Seriake Dickson indicated interest and commitment to have his state host the pageant, the event has now been added to the host of events to bid farewell to the governor, whose tenure comes to an end in February 2020.

This beauty pageant, the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, which will take place for the fourth time in Bayelsa state, celebrates youth, empowerment, inward beauty and building role models to young women and role models to society.

This announcement was greeted with positive reviews from the special adviser to the governor on Tourism Development and Entertainment Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce and Members of the Culture and Tourism Board of Bayelsa State.

Members of the pageant’s organising committee also commented with praises to the outgoing Governor who had made conscious effort to build the tourism potential of the state by taking advantage of the pageant’s influence and international reach.

‘’He is a man who really wants to create investment opportunities for his state and uplift the lives of his people, so far he has utilized the events potential and the results speak for themselves, we are honoured to be included in his farewell lineup and we hope to give Nigerians a spectacular offering come October 11, 2019.’’ Said the special adviser to the Governor on Tourism Development and Entertainment.

The chairman of the organising committee, Honourable Professor Steve Azaiki said, ‘’I believe that the 2019 MBGN will be a worthy ambassador not only for her family and community, but to the entire country as she wins the coveted crown. All 37 delegates representing the states in Nigeria are truly worthy ambassadors of the different states and portray the phrase ’’Every Woman’’ in its entirety.’’

This year’s pageant, taking place on Friday, October 11, 2019, 37 delegates will be vying for Nigeria’s most prestigious crown, of which a winner will emerge a worthy ambassador, showcasing the rich heritage, values, and culture that Nigeria so richly possesses.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre Yenagoa on October 11, 2019; the event organizers have promised an exciting show as always. Nigeria awaits the emergence of a new winner to the most prestigious crown in Nigeria, ‘’MBGN 2019.’’
