African Pop, a genre of Music well known as Afro Pop, has massively dominated the contemporary music scene in Nigeria.

It is also a music genre which involves the combination of elements of West African musical styles such as Fuji music and high life with American funk and jazz influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion.

Apart from the huge listener-ship Afro pop get from Nigeria, it has also been established that it has massive acceptability by fans.

In most cases, the reason for the acceptability of the song is because of the message of the song being sang, using indigenous medium, languages and dialects which are most of the tie that of its listeners.

The emergence of this genre of music has also become a plus to the Nigerian music scene, financially and economically; thereby providing jobs and economic opportunities and traditionally; thereby retaining the essence of the Nigerian culture.

Oluwaseun David well known as Ogyny, vivid example of an emerging Afro-pop artist Nigerian artist that, has shown so much potential for Afro –Pop as a genre of using.

Speaking as a guest on the Silverbird Television’s entertainment show; tagged: ‘Entertainment Weekly’ the promising Afro-pop guru said he sings, acts, models, and compere (MC) emphasizing that it is all encompassing.

According to the entertainer, his latest song  is a love ballad titled: ‘Elerin Eye’, which he said is everywhere while ‘Monini’ is said is a story telling Kind of song that tell a lot about who he is.

As a result of his dynamic and versatile nature, Ogyny stated that he has acted in movies like Dreams, Blueprint, Igbo Kadara amongst others.
