Earlier this year, Mavin Records signed Johnny Drille, a talented guitarist and alternative artiste. Today, Drille just released a song titled "Romeo and Juliet".
Drille first came into the limelight when he competed in 2013's Project Fame. He has since won hundreds of fans over with his songs, "My Beautiful Love", "Wait For Me", and "Dear Future Wife". Last year, he was also nominated for a 'Headies' in the 'Best Alternative Song' category.
"Romeo & Juliet" is a simple song with crisp vocals over a simple acoustic guitar, a tambourine, and a drum. The song has an alt-country vibe that is relatively new in the Nigerian music scene.
In the song, Drille asks the object of his affections to be his Juliet and he can be her Romeo. Romeo and Juliet, the characters in what is probably William Shakespeare's most famous work died tragically less than a week after they met but we're focusing on the positive here; that he wants a love so strong, it would be agony to be away from her.
