President Muhammadu Buhari has urged education stakeholders to work hard to preserve and embrace innovations in all aspects of the education system
President Buhari, made the call at the 2017 World Teachers’ Day in Abuja yesterday.
The theme of the celebration is: “Teaching in freedom, empowering teachers in the 21st century”.
According to him, there is need to pay attention to areas that lead to skills acquisition, creative and innovative education.
The house of reps also call for the improvement of teacher’s welfare.
Speaking at the 2017 world teachers day celebration in Abuja, President of the union, Micheal Olukoya-Alogba said the union will embark on strike if local governments gain autonomy in the management of primary education.
And in Lagos, the Deputy Governor of the state ,Idiat Adebule announced that primary school teachers can now rise to grade level 17 and, secondary school teachers to the height of education tutors and above, as opposed to the level of school principal .
