Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB Professor Is-haq Oloyede says the 2016 admissions to all Federal and State Universities have closed.
He, however, announced an extension of admissions to polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education and private universities by two weeks.
The registrar also disclosed that JAMB is preparing for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, and that all owners of computer-based test centres have been invited to apply online for accreditation and registration.
There is no enough space for candidates in public universities where the tuition fee is a bit competitive.
Meanwhile most candidates for the UTME had applied to university due to the dichotomy between polytechnic and varsity education.
