Organisers of the ongoing Lagos International Trade Fair, LCCI (Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry), have received accolades from exhibitors for implementing new initiative.

The exhibitors revealed that the new initiatives have made the environment more conducive and also enhanced sales.

An exhibitor who has been participating in the fair for three years, Mrs Marie Adeleke commended LCCI for the Zero tolerance on unnecessary noise, and expressed optimism that it would add value to the fair.

Mrs Adeleke said: “This year’s fair without the loud music is very good for us all and it’s making the place look businesslike unlike before that you think you’re at a concert.”

To corroborate the view on the effectiveness of the initiatives, the Chairman, Trade Promotion Board of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also organisers of the fair, Mr. Gabriel Idahosa, said that the level of complaints by the exhibitors has reduced at this year’s fair compared to previous editions.

The new initiatives which Mr. Idahosa described as “Big Changes” include: Zero tolerance for noise initiative and Lagos International Trade Fair Radio and the Exhibitors Service Centre.

Others are upgrade of facilities, improved classification of exhibition areas, among others.

Mr. Idahosa said: “We believe that the development would ensure orderliness and enhance the beauty and ambience of the fairground.”

The fair which has over 2,000 local and foreign exhibitors is in its fifth day and will end on November 11th.
