The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has called on Nigerians to embrace local contents so as to grow its telecommunication sector.

He made this call during the official presentation of “SoftTalk” a messaging application developed by a Japan-based Nigerian IT expert, Mr. Simple Azenabor at the Eko Hotel and suite, Lagos recently.

While commending Azenabor for developing a Nigeria-owned messaging app, the minister said that the product would definitely challenge other common messaging apps because of its abundant features.

SoftTalk provides such opportunities for video calls, unrestricted numbers of group chats as it enables the normal audio calls by users.

Besides, the softTalk enables users to do online shopping, according to Azenebor. Adding, “It takes lesser data to function.”

The developer says that his company is making frantic effort to open a shop and office outlet in Nigeria to provide employment for the teeming population of jobless youths across the country.

The minister who was represented by a Director in the Federal Ministry of Information, Mrs. Stella Adefusi said that the Federal Government would give maximum support to Azenebor in his quest to dominate telecommunication sector in the nearest future.
