There are indications that the Federal Government may approve minimum wage this year.
The Minister of Labour Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige revealed at the weekend that the tripartite committee set up by the government to come up with the new minimum wage will complete its assignment on or before the third quarter of the year on the wage.
However, the minister could not mention the exact minimum wage, he stated that it would be worthwhile for workers.
He said that minimum wage issue is a Federal Government agenda, which the state would have to agree with.
According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari is monitoring the committee and would be ready to approve the wage as soon as the report is presented to him.
