The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public petitions has described the freezing of some accounts belonging to Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of the former President Goodluck Jonathan as illegal.
The committee wonders why some of the bank accounts where Mrs. Jonathan is only a trustee were frozen without a proper court order.
In the meantime, the House of Representatives is set to investigate the termination of contract by the Federal Government between the Nigerian Ports Authority and Intels Nigeria Limited without due process.
This followed a motion under matters of public urgent importance moved by Representative Diri Douye from Bayelsa State.
In another development, the acting Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC has paraded a suspected importer of fake and unwholesome insecticide.
The agency says there is no going back on its zero tolerance for counterfeiting unregistered and adulterated products in the country, calling on the public to assist in the fight.
