Former President Gooduck Jonathan has been invited by the House of Representatives committee.
A source told our correspondent that the committee wanted Jonathan to testify in the ongoing investigations into the Malabu Oil deal.
Since the assumption of the present administration, Jonathan has been named in some shady deals by some members of his administration but the National Assembly has refused to invite the former president.
The controversial $1.3 billion deal revolves around “OPL 245,” which is believed to be the most valuable oil field in West Africa.
The scam is being investigated in Nigeria, Italy and Netherlands due to the participation of oil giants Shell and ENI.
