Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has called on the Federal Government to make their presence felt in the state especially in the area of road construction, power and housing.
He made this known when he received the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and his team at the governor’s conference room in Yenagoa.
The governor says the state is in dire need of infrastructure development stating that Bayelsa State is surrounded by water and it takes a lot of sand filling to successfully erect a building which costs a lot of money.
However, in Ogun State, some residents have condemned the proposed 10 lane Abeokuta-Shagamu Expressway by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Some of them described the project as a misplaced priority.
But the government had claimed that the project would open the state for business opportunities.
