The Nigeria Labour Congress has warned the Federal Government against any further increase in the pump price of petroleum products.
The warning is coming as the retail stations of the Nigerian Petroleum Corporations in the federal capital territory and its environs have increased the pump price of the PMS to N145.
The General Secretary, NLC, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, said that it would be insensitive on the part of the government to increase fuel price in view of the current hardship in the land.
However, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu has said that he knows nothing about the increase.
At a meeting with PENGASSAN and the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, Kachikwu said that he would meet with NNPC to find out the increase.
He said it woud be wrong for NNPC to carry out any increase for now that the government has not done anything on the review of price template.
