The House of Representatives is asking the executive arm of government to suspend its January 1, 2017 ban on the importation of vehicles through land borders.
Representative Abubakar Salame who moved the motion, noted that the new law will have adverse effect on citizens.

Its spokesman Bolaji Akinola says the approach is not holistic in addressing the challenge of smuggling .and he is calling for the reversal of the 70 percent tariff on imported vehicles as this would boost activities at the nations ports and make them more competitive.
