Southwest governors yesterday in Ibadan resolved not to allow politics divide the region but place the people in the centre of development plans.
The meeting comes after President Mohammadu Buhari led a rally in Ondo State with several governors from the southwest absent.
The governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, said that the governors had agreed to collaborate in the areas of agriculture, security, commerce, health and education.
Five governors and a secretary to the Ondo State Government were at the meeting.
They include, Ayodele Fayose, Ekiti State, Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State; Ibikunle Amosun, Ogun State; Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
They also discussed how they would integrate the region economy by building strong infrastructure such as road and railway to link the states together.
